I'm comin' up so you better get this party started I'm comin' up so you better get this party started

Pink seems to be of the belief that because she is ascending the stairs (or indeed, the lift – we assume that Pink goes to parties in establishments that provide adequate facilities for the disabled, but we also assume that Pink chooses to stay fit and not abuse the facilities provided), the party needs to be started. This is particularly inconsiderate of her, especially if she is early – or if she is late, she’s then implying that the party (which has already started) still resembles something in the research and development (aka planning) phase, which if I were an organiser I would just find insulting. “Hey Tom – so, whens this shindig* starting?” “Um. Half an hour ago, and to be honest Pink – and really, what kind of name is that? – I’m not impressed with your attitude, and I would like you to leave if that’s how you’re going to be all night”. See – not a pleasant situation for anyone.

Get this party started on a Saturday night Everybody's waitin for me to arrive Sendin' out the message to all of my friends We'll be lookin flashy in my Mercedes Benz I got lotsa style, check my gold diamond rings I can go for miles if you know what I mean

It appears that Pink believes that this party is on a Saturday night (she really should have been more involved in the research and development phase, for she would have then found out it was on a Friday night. Silly girl), and that she also (in a ridiculous statement) is of the belief that everyone is waiting for her to actually arrive at this do. Which seeing as she thinks it’s the day afterwards, is a statement which probably true seeing as she’s an entire day late (I’ve heard of arriving at a party fashionably late but there’s limits to everything and this in particular is just daft) and people may have wondered why she was late.

She sends a message to both of her friends announcing that she’s going to arrive in her quite nice car – all irrelevant seeing as she’s so ridiculously late and no-one will actually see her arrive in the car that she’s hired for the night. She likes to then claim that she has some “style” (seriously, have you seen Pink? Enough said), and that she can drive her rental car for miles – presumably because with the money that she saves on a good haircut, she can afford some more fuel.

Pumpin up the volume, breakin down to the beat
Cruisin' through the west side
We'll be checkin' the scene
Boulevard is freakin' as I'm comin' up fast
I'll be burnin' rubber, you'll be kissin' my ass
Pull up to the bumper, get out of the car
License plate says Stunner #1 Superstar

Pink decides to turn up the volume on the stereo in her friends house after the party has finished. I find this to be highly inappropriate behaviour. She then claims that she and her cronies will be checking the “scene” (for what? Witnesses?) before she then starts a tyre fire – which anyone will know isn’t just inappropriate, it’s irresponsible (especially in someones home). As a sidenote she then talks about her car’s registration plate, a customised number saying Stunner Number One Superstar – which is all a bit long for a vehicle registration plate surely? I know she’s talking about America but even so…

Makin my connection as I enter the room Everybody's chillin as I set up the groove Pumpin' up the volume with this brand new beat Everybody's dancin and their dancin for me I'm your operator, you can call anytime I'll be your connection to the party line

Pink believes that everyone is chilling in the room as the party (before she enters) has a relaxed vibe; in reality they’re recovering from the night before, and will regard her entering the room and turning up the music whilst they are hung-over and clearly not keen for another session of drinking as just being rude. No-one is actually dancing; their just standing, stumbling, and attempting to turn the music down. Pink then for some bizarre reason reveals her day job; she’s a phone operator**.

Get this party started Get this party started right now Get this party started Get this party started Get this party started right now

Pink is eager to get the party going.

* - Yes?
** - The cynic in me wanted to make a joke about how I’d far rather the BT lady sang this song than Pink, but that seemed too obvious and crude.
