It appears that Fergie has purchased some interesting perfume, one that is scented to smell like someone. Now, when such products are endorsed by someone, we are merely expected to assume that they use them - which, more often than not, is far from the case. More often than not they have quite likely never even heard of the perfume in question, smelling the green dollar more pungently than they can the potentially watered down perfume. But njo, it is clear that Fergie has purchased some perfume engineered to smell like someone else, and whilst in the perfume world this is a credible achievement, in my world its just creepy.
This celebrity whom she has bought perfume like obviously has strong links with their home town, as they fly back on their glamorous private jet. Fergie however instead of wanting to spend time with this celebrity whom she shares a scent has decided that she needs to be in her own shelter, to attempt to gain a sense of self-clarity. An admirable notion and as they say - never meet your heroes (or, indeed, Nick Bakay - voice of Salem. I'm sure he's a nice guy but having seen a picture of him, well, it was just distressing).
I hope you know, I hope you know That this has nothing to do with you It's personal, myself and I We got some straightening out to do And I'm gonna miss you like a child misses their blanket But I've gotta move on with my life It's time to be a big girl now And big girls don't cry Don't cry, Don't cry, Don't cry
Fergie hopes that the subject celebrity realises that this isn't about them and she needs just to be with herself enjoying the pungent scent that she has purchased from John Lewis based upon the subject. She claims that she shall miss the subject like a child will miss their blanket (but this is only if it is removed from their person, something she neglects to mention - and I have to admit that as a child I had nothing to do with a blanket, perhaps I was neglected or deprived which would really explain a lot of the events in my later life but hey). She has however decided that it is time for her to move on with her life, and decided as such to become a "big girl" - this could potentially mean that she has decided to invest in a perfume entitled "Big Girl", and this could well be a perfume that doesn't make her cry and wish that she was with the celebrity whose "stench" she so loves.
The path that I'm walking, I must go alone I must take the baby steps till I'm full grown, full grown Fairy tales don't always have a happy ending do they And I for seek the dark ahead if I stay
Fergie enhances her sense of oneness by saying that this path that she is taking is one that she must take on her own; one that she must take in order to enhance her sense of worth and complete an experience that will mature her immensely. She intends to purchase a more grown up perfume, the first of the many baby steps that she will take on her path to enlightenment - other ones might include purchasing a Delia Smith recipe book, or perhaps watch an episode of Dinnerladies and indulge in the alpha-female presented forth by Victoria Wood and co. She also declares that she is moving out of her metaphorical "childhood" wherein fairy tales were true, and is moving into a dark future - one she needs to see in, and as such one that she should be purchasing a torch (available at a competitive rate from Halfords among other easily accessible retail outlets) for.
Like a little school mate in the school yard
We'll play jacks and Uno cards
I'll be your best friend and you'll be mine
Valentine
Yes you can hold my hand if you want to
'cause I wanna hold yours too
We'll be playmates and lovers and share our secret
words
But it's time for me to go home
It's getting late, dark outside
I need to be with myself in center, clarity
Peace, Serenity
Fergie appears to have some conflicting issues; having decided to avoid the perfume subject, she now claims that she intends to befriend this subject, playing uno cards with them and sending (what is I presume) them a card calling them a valentine, this being a sarcastic joke extending to them being playmates, "lovers" and having a secret vocabulary (and what's wrong with English may I ask? A language fit for Jesus is a language fit for anyone). But alas, she then realises that clarity s what she wants, and she merely wants to be herself and imagine these events happening with the celebrity perfume-based subject - because in reality it just isn't as good.
