issue 013

They don't love you like I love you...

Ladies and gentlemen and all in-between, you join me at the end of a VERY hectic week in Video Killed The Radio Star towers.

The small talk first; over the coming weeks there will be a few changes around the website. Nothing particularly significant, but for instance our issues page is now starting to get rather long and wordy because there's a full 11 issues being described on there; now my task is to try out a number of different systems before abandoning them and going back to how things were done. Ah, the good old days.

Secondly (and just as small) in terms of VKTRS exploits our, er, exploits with The Weekly Summit continue with Episode 5 available for your perusal and Episode 6 broadcasting, as ever, on Thursday at 11am on xpress radio. Our last episode contained some of my favourite moments and I do feel we delivering, er, quality (ha!) on a consistent basis (ha!) so do tune in.

I will also be doing a number of shows on xpress over the next few weeks, which you'll be able to read about a bit more here but most notably and importantly tomorrow (monday) see's me on xpress at 3.30pm until 6pm. That's all in terms of plugging though; this week we have only three pieces but each is corking and, in some way or another, relevant.

Firstly we have an old band with an old song; Oasis with She's Electric, a song which if I may say so myself is absolutely ridiculous and Dave points this out with glee.

Irrelevantly Liam complains about his lack of time. What exactly is he running late for? Is he late for band practice again? Really you'd think he'd take his career a bit more seriously, maybe all these frights his girlfriend is giving him are slowing him up.

And next on our board of fare we have a piece by Tom on a very new song indeed by The Pussycat Dolls and Missy Elliot; so what do you think of that squire (when you translate it into English that's the title, anyway).

They are all rich beyond their respective wildest dreams and running a highly successful enterprise the like of which allows them to bring in expensive external consultants.

Finally Dave has a look at a new piece by U2 - I dread this being in the general mainstream conciousness (which it inevitably will), I really do.

Is Bono telling Johnny to defile his sister? I knew Bono was a bit unorthodox in his beliefs but surely this is taking the matter too far.

That's us done for the day; have a lovely week, do tune in and we'll see you next week!

Tom x
