Oasis - She's Electric
It's about time we had a proper look at Oasis during their heyday, and Dave does just that here. A corker.
She's electric
She's in a family full of eccentrics
She done things I never expected
And I need more time
She's got a sister
And god only knows how I've missed her
On the palm of her hand is a blister
And I need more time
Liam Gallagher is dating a robot by the sounds of it, although I'm pleased to say she's an energy efficient model, running on electricity rather than coal or oil. Then again considering you don't see that many steam powered robots around is it that surprising she's electric though? I hope this isn't a cruel comment about her wearing a pacemaker
Robot or not, she's got a wacky family it seems. The sort of family who might celebrate a birthday with a pie rather than a cake, or perhaps one of them is of the opinion that Charlie Chaplin invented double glazing, a dubious claim to say the least.
Meanwhile Liam boasts about how surprising life is with his girlfriend. I'm guessing she's the sort to host surprise parties or perhaps spontaneously bring home bars of chocolate as a gift for Liam, not a bad set-up for the outspoken front-man. Although she could surprising in a negative way, perhaps she has a habit of jumping out suddenly and scaring the monobrowed singer, which must make his home life a bit stressful.
Irrelevantly Liam complains about his lack of time. What exactly is he running late for? Is he late for band practice again? Really you'd think he'd take his career a bit more seriously, maybe all these frights his girlfriend is giving him are slowing him up.
Liam it seems also has a very close relationship with his sister in-law, to the point that he seriously misses her when she's gone, looks like he chose the wrong sibling. Could scandal be on the cards? Then again it's possible Liam has been put off by the blisters on her palm, which seems a little bit picky to me. Perhaps he's waiting for the blister to pop before he runs off with his girlfriend's sister. He should really stop repeating how he needs more time as his girlfriend might suspect what's going on.
And I want you to know
I've got my mind made up now
But I need more time
And I want you to say
Do you know what I'm saying?
But I need more ....
Coz I'll be you and you'll be me
There's lots and lots for us to see
There's lots and lots for us to do
She is electric, can I be electric too?
Well Liam's made a decision one way or the other, it seems one of the siblings is going home empty handed tonight. All this cloak and dagger decision making behind the scenes, on the qualities and flaws of these two girls seems rather reminiscent of Blind Date back in the day.
There is a shock twist however; he is still stalling for time. It looks like the sisters will have to keep on waiting for his decision. Unless of course his decision is that he needs more time? What a sneaky and diabolical fiend that Liam is.
Liam tries to keep favour with the women with a bit of a sketchy argument of all the stuff they can do together. To say that he's skimping a bit on the details of what exactly he could do with them is an understatement, and it's clear that he hasn't really done his homework on what either of the ladies individual interests are. An amateur error really.
However, it looks like Liam may have made up his mind at last, as he looks interested in becoming a robot too, or at least converting his house to electricity. Considering most homes have had electricity in some form since around the 1940s to 1950s I think its high time Liam admitted in-home electricity is here to stay.
She's got a brother
We don't get on with one another
But I quite fancy her mother
And I think that she likes me
She's got a cousin
In fact she's got 'bout a dozen
She's got one in the oven
But it's nothing to do with me
Liam and his girlfriend's brother have a bit of a sore relationship. Bearing in mind that Liam tried to score with both his sister and subsequently messed both around after, can you blame him though. I myself don't have a sister, but if I did and some northern rock singer tried those tricks fisticuffs may be in order, or at least a very stern e-mail.
God Good! Liam knows no shame as he starts making eyes at the mother of the family, and suspects that she may reciprocate his interest. The family's moved, in my eyes, from being a family of eccentrics to a family of partner stealers. They seem like the sort who wouldn't be out of place on Jeremy Kyle, considering their infighting. Then again if they did go on it with this little dispute imagine the heading for the debate: "Rock Star cheated with my sister and my mother". It would probably make good TV.
I have a bad feeling that the family goings on may be a bit more sinister than Liam made out at the start. He claimed they were eccentric, which implies strange in a light-hearted way. However, it now seems that Liam's girlfriend is pregnant but not with his child, oh no, in fact she is pregnant with her cousin's child. It seems the family has a habit of inbreeding. Seriously how would Jeremy Kyle cope with this one? Maybe that's why Liam decided to have a go with the sister and the mother too, for revenge!
